Laura Fleming is part of the Employment Litigation Group at Payne & Fears.
She is an experienced litigator representing a broad range of clients from startups to Fortune 100 corporations. Laura defends clients against complex class and PAGA actions covering tens of thousands of employees, spearheading cutting-edge legal briefings to bring successful resolution. Laura also handles single-plaintiff lawsuits and pre-litigation disputes with an eye toward cost-conscious deployment of resources.
Laura also advises corporate counsel and human resources professionals on how to avoid litigation and comply with employment regulation. In addition, her practice includes union arbitrations and negotiations, employment agreements, internal investigations, and responding to charges filed with the National Labor Review Board (NLRB), the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the California Civil Rights Department (CRD), the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE), and other government agencies. In addition to representing Fortune 500 clients, Laura also provides daily advice and counsel to multiple small- and medium-sized businesses. Her practical solutions are drawn from two decades of practice, and her clients appreciate her rapid response time.
Drawing from her experience as a litigator, Laura is available to serve as mediator in employment and business disputes. Laura is a frequent speaker and author on human resources and employment law issues. She also provides employment law support to Southern California executives in transition.
Outside of the office, Laura enjoys singing psalms, raising chickens, and riding motorcycles down country roads.

Laura represents a Fortune 500 company in multiple California class action/Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) lawsuits, involving tens of thousands of employees. Her team has repeatedly obtained favorable resolution, including a successful motion to strike class allegations leading to settlement on an individual basis.
