Karen Wyckoff is the Associate Executive Director at Payne & Fears, working closely with attorneys and staff members. She assists with the day-to-day finance, operations, and other needs of the firm.
Karen oversees the firm billing and collections, analyzes billing arrangements, oversees outside counsel guidelines, and manages litigation vendor relations. She collaborates with other firm leadership in HR, IT, and Marketing, reviewing firm needs and budgets.
Karen has a strong background in Legal Administration, holding law firm management and administrative positions for approximately 20 years. She has worked in the legal services field for more than 30 years. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding all aspects of litigation, and brings many skills and experience in the legal billing process, including proficiency with several e‐billing platforms, implementation of client billing and outside counsel guidelines, managing client deductions and billing appeals, managing finance-related functions such as payroll, firm budgets, and firm internal reporting. She also has significant experience with managing law firm personnel, preparing for trials, project management, client relations, and business development.
Karen’s approachable, compassionate attitude allows her to be a trusted confidant to her colleagues and firm clients. She is resilient, reliable, and results-driven in all aspects of her life.
Outside of the office, family is everything to her. She has three children, one amazing nephew, and one step-daughter. Going to the beach with her husband is her top activity.
