Alexandra DeFelice joined Payne & Fears as the Director of Marketing and Business Development in 2019.

In this role, Alexandra is responsible for the firm’s business development and marketing plan. She works closely with attorneys to fulfill a driving principle of the firm to provide value-added services to our clients by delivering timely, practical, and relevant information on legal developments.

Alexandra is responsible for determining the best strategic fit for the many sponsorships, speaking engagements, and writing opportunities presented to our attorneys. She also spearheads the firm’s internal communications and cultural activities, collaborating with the firm’s other leaders on firmwide initiatives. Alexandra’s energetic personality and sense of humor allow her to add a bit of fun to what could be perceived as a serious industry. The most rewarding part of her job is celebrating firmwide successes and serving as a cheerleader for the attorneys and their tremendous client-first efforts.

Background

Alexandra has more than 20 years of diverse business development, coaching, and communications experience. Prior to joining Payne & Fears, she worked for a large regional firm in Portland, Oregon, where she served as a business development manager for two of the firm’s six core industry groups, driving strategy, writing business plans, and contributing to year-over-year revenue growth. She previously served as senior manager for the North American headquarters of an international group of accounting firms and worked as a journalist for the first decade of her career in New York and California. She is a frequent speaker and moderator at legal and accounting seminars, utilizing her journalism background to drill into important issues and translate technical concepts into easily understandable information.

Outside of the office, Alexandra likes to spend as much time being active outside as possible—be it running, biking, hiking, or paddleboarding—while soaking in the Southern California sun.
