Timothy Heggem is an associate in the Insurance Coverage Group at Payne & Fears LLP.
Prior to joining Payne & Fears LLP, Mr. Heggem was an associate for four years with Irell & Manella LLP in its Newport Beach office, where his practice encompassed white collar criminal defense, securities litigation, class action defense, and patent litigation. He obtained favorable results for a wide variety of clients spanning various industries.
Mr. Heggem is also one of the few lawyers in the country to focus on esports. He has a deep understanding of the growing esports industry, which uniquely equips him to help esports organizations and professional teams meet their legal needs, such as forming corporate entities, entering into business transactions, and hiring and managing employees and contractors.
Mr. Heggem earned his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2010. While in law school, he was a finalist in the mock trial competition, after which he served as a board member of the mock trial program. Mr. Heggem was also a founding member of the national trial advocacy team that competed and placed in the National Trial Competition.
Mr. Heggem now coaches a local high school’s mock trial team through the Constitutional Rights Foundation, Orange County.
